EUFASA AGM Confers Honorary Membership on Revaldo Walters

On 19 May 2026, the Annual General Meeting of EUFASA AISBL unanimously approved the conferral of honorary membership on Revaldo Walters in recognition of his outstanding contribution and long-standing service to the organisation.

Revaldo Walters recently concluded 11 years of dedicated involvement with EUFASA, serving from 2014 to 2025 as delegate of the UK Foreign Service Family Association, now FCDO Families. During this time, he played a central role in the development and modernisation of EUFASA’s digital presence and organisational structures.

His EUFASA journey began at the 2014 conference in Rome, where encouragement from colleagues and the conference host inspired him to help strengthen the organisation’s digital communications and online visibility. Shortly afterwards, he built and launched EUFASA’s first website, together with its first Facebook page and private online group, laying the foundations for the organisation’s future digital development.

From 2017 to 2025, Revaldo chaired the Web & Media Working Group, leading efforts to modernise EUFASA’s digital infrastructure and communications. Under his leadership, EUFASA launched the new eufasa.org website, established the intranet on Box.com, implemented Google Workspace, created the ERD YouTube channel, and expanded its presence across Facebook, X, and Instagram. These initiatives helped make EUFASA more connected, accessible, and resilient.

Revaldo also served on earlier Steering Committees working alongside conference hosts in planning EUFASA conferences, and later on the Board of EUFASA AISBL in 2021 and 2022, contributing significantly to the organisation’s transition to AISBL status. Working closely with the Board and the Legal Matters Working Group, he contributed to several key governance initiatives, including the development of the Rules of Procedure, updates to the EUFASA AISBL Glossary and Conference Planning Timeframe, the formalisation of the ERD as a permanent Working Group with clear terms of reference, and a GDPR compliance review of EUFASA’s digital platforms.

Beyond his digital and governance contributions, Revaldo supported several major EUFASA initiatives aimed at strengthening support for foreign service families, including the Charter of Rights for Foreign Service Families, the Charter of Rights for Foreign Service Children, the EUFASA Job Platform, and the new Employment Chart. He also hosted the 2019 EUFASA Conference in London, an event remembered by many participants for its strong sense of community and collaboration.

In accepting the honour, Revaldo expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reflected on the friendships, trust, and shared purpose that characterised his years of service within EUFASA. He noted that although his formal roles have concluded, his commitment to EUFASA’s mission and community remains strong.

By granting honorary membership, the AGM recognised Revaldo Walters’ exceptional dedication, professionalism, and enduring impact on the growth, governance, and development of EUFASA.
