EUFASA AISBL is pleased to announce that it was officially registered in the European Union Transparency Registeron 2 July 2026, following the decision of the EUFASA Board adopted in April 2026.

This registration represents an important milestone for EUFASA and reinforces the Association’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and constructive engagement with the European institutions.

As the umbrella organisation representing 22 foreign service spouses’, partners’ and families’ associations from EU and EFTA countries, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the European External Action Service (EEAS), EUFASA has, since 1985, worked to raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by foreign service families accompanying diplomats and other foreign service officers on international postings. The Association promotes the exchange of best practices among its members and advocates for family-friendly policies that enable Ministries of Foreign Affairs and European institutions to effectively support foreign service families.

The EU Transparency Register is the public register of organisations that seek to contribute to the development and implementation of EU policies and decision-making. It enables citizens to see which interests are represented at EU level, by whom, and on whose behalf. Registered organisations commit to a code of conduct governing their interactions with the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, while a dedicated complaints mechanism helps ensure transparency and accountability.

Registration in the Transparency Register strengthens EUFASA’s ability to engage openly with European institutions on matters affecting foreign service families, including spouse and partner employment, social rights, children’s education, family well-being, crisis preparedness, and equal treatment of all family members. It also reflects the Association’s commitment to the highest standards of good governance and ethical advocacy.
